Available Editions¶
Content Retention Manager for Confluence is available in two editions:
- Lite Edition: Allows administrators to establish retention policies and audit content retention status without requiring destructive permissions. It serves as a stepping stone for organizations to gain valuable insights into their content landscape before advancing to comprehensive retention management and enforcement.
- Standard Edition: Provides all the features of Lite plus comprehensive content management capabilities including automated content deletion, content purging, per-page classification, and technical support.
For a detailed comparison of features available in each edition, please see our Edition Comparison page.
How it works¶
Content Retention Manager focuses on information governance for Atlassian Confluence falling into two basic categories retention and removal.
Retain content on Atlassian Confluence for as long as you need it. You can retain content for a set or indefinite time. Content remains available to admins even when a user archives or deletes the page or blog.
- Remove content on Atlassian Confluence when you no longer need it. You can purge content from Atlassian Confluence when it is no longer needed. Once purged, content cannot be recovered by admins or users meeting non-discoverable requirements of expired content for legal ops and compliance requirements. (Automated removal features require the Standard edition)
Data Management within Content Retention Manager¶
Content Retention Manager for Confluence sits directly on your Atlassian Confluence instance and does not retain any data, content, or user information on external systems. There is no data egress from the app to external services. The service is wholly contained within your cloud instance. When content is purged by Content Retention Manager, it cannot be recovered by users or admins. You can read more on the Privacy & Security of the app in the Atlassian Marketplace.
